Bridal guide
Your wedding glow, the Glowtoure way
Your wedding day is one of the most photographed moments of your life — and your glow should feel just as intentional as your dress, makeup, and every detail you carefully chose. A professional bridal spray tan isn’t about looking overly bronzed. It’s about looking smooth, even, radiant, and naturally confident in every photo, under every light, from the first look to the final dance.
Every Glowtoure bridal tan is custom-designed to enhance your natural skin tone, soften unevenness, complement your makeup, and give you that polished, wedding-ready glow — without sun damage, orange tones, or a streaky finish.
Why brides choose it
A glow that looks like the best version of you
A wedding spray tan should never look fake, heavy, or obvious. The goal is warmer, smoother, healthier, more luminous — still completely you. A bridal spray tan can help:
- Even out redness, discoloration, and tan lines
- Enhance natural definition in photos
- Create a soft, glowing finish against white, ivory, or champagne dresses
- Give your skin a smooth, camera-ready look
- Boost confidence without UV exposure or tanning-bed damage
Whether you want a barely-there glow or a deeper bronzed finish, your tan is tailored to look natural, balanced, and beautiful on you.
Timing
When to get a spray tan before your wedding
The most common bridal question is “how many days before my wedding should I get my spray tan?” It depends on your skin and your events, but for most brides the final tan should be done 2–3 days before the wedding — giving your color time to fully develop, settle, and look soft, even, and photo-ready.
Trial tan · 3–4 weeks before
Your trial tan is highly recommended — especially if you’ve never had a spray tan, you’re nervous about the color, you want to see how it photographs, or you have a makeup trial or dress fitting coming up. During your trial we customize your shade, adjust the depth, and make sure the final wedding-week tan feels exactly right for your skin tone, dress, makeup, and overall aesthetic.
Final wedding tan · 48–72 hours before
Your final bridal tan should typically be scheduled 2–3 days before the wedding. This allows time for full color development, your first rinse, the tan to settle into the skin, any bronzer residue to wash away, and the final color to look soft and natural in photos. By the wedding day, your tan is fully set, smooth, and ready for your dress.

Prep
How to prepare for your bridal spray tan
Proper prep is the secret to a smooth, long-lasting, streak-free bridal glow. The better your skin is prepared, the better your tan applies, develops, and fades.
Exfoliate thoroughly
Exfoliate 24–48 hours before your appointment with a gentle mitt or scrub, focusing on areas that hold dryness:
- Elbows
- Knees
- Ankles
- Wrists
- Hands and feet
- Any rough or dry patches
Avoid oil-based scrubs — they leave residue that interferes with your tan.
Shave or wax in advance
- Shave at least 12–24 hours before your tan.
- Wax 24–48 hours before your tan.
- Avoid shaving immediately after your spray tan when possible.
This gives your pores time to close and helps prevent irritation, spotting, or uneven absorption.
Hydrate beforehand, then arrive product-free
In the days leading up, moisturize daily to keep skin hydrated and smooth. But on appointment day your skin should be clean, dry, and product-free — no lotion, deodorant, makeup, perfume, oils, heavy skincare, or sunscreen. These create a barrier that can cause uneven color or patchiness.
What to wear
To your appointment
Your post-tan outfit matters — tight clothing rubs against your tan before it sets.
Wear
- Loose, dark clothing
- A loose dress, oversized tee, or flowy set
- Slides or flip-flops
- No bra, or a loose/strapless bra if needed
Avoid
- Leggings, jeans, tight waistbands
- Tight bras and anything with pressing straps
- Socks and sneakers
Aftercare
Caring for your bridal glow
Your tan doesn’t stop at the appointment — aftercare is what helps your glow last longer, fade evenly, and stay beautiful through your wedding events.
Your first rinse
- Follow the rinse time your artist gives you — it can vary by formula and goal.
- Use lukewarm water only, and keep the rinse gentle.
- No soap or body wash during the first rinse.
- Don't shave or exfoliate.
- Let the bronzer rinse off fully — brown water is normal, it's just cosmetic bronzer.
- Pat dry with a towel instead of rubbing.
Moisturize daily & avoid tan-faders
Once your tan has developed, moisturize morning and night with an oil-free, tan-safe lotion. To protect your glow, avoid:
- Long, hot showers
- Chlorine pools, hot tubs, and saunas
- Heavy sweating
- Exfoliating products and harsh body washes
- Oil-based lotions
- Frequent shaving
Bridal FAQs
Common bridal questions
- Should I do a trial spray tan before my wedding?
- Yes. A trial tan is strongly recommended for brides. It lets us test your ideal shade, see how your skin develops, and make sure you feel completely confident before your final wedding tan.
- Will my spray tan rub off on my wedding dress?
- When your tan has properly developed, been rinsed, and fully settled, it should not transfer onto your wedding dress. That is why timing matters — scheduling your final tan 2–3 days before the wedding gives your skin time to fully process the color before you put on your dress.
- What if I'm scared of looking too dark?
- That is exactly why customization matters. Your tan is mixed and applied based on your skin tone, undertone, comfort level, and bridal vision. We specialize in soft, natural, skin-like results — never orange, muddy, or overdone.
- Can I get a spray tan before my bridal shower, bachelorette, or engagement photos?
- Yes. Spray tans are perfect for the events leading up to the wedding — engagement photos, bridal showers, bachelorette weekends, rehearsal dinners, and honeymoon send-offs. A bridal package is often the best option if you want multiple glows throughout your wedding season.
